Simon Chalwin

I first skied in Aviemore, aged 14 - a two-day weekend by overnight coach from London - and was hooked! Sadly, I didn't ski regularly until I could pay my own way and after that most of the holiday budget went on skiing. I am lucky to have a wife and grown-up children who all love it as much as I do. 25 years ago, we discovered ski touring and did the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route, which we repeated in 2016 with our daughter just weeks before her wedding. I have loved introducing my family, friends and members to the sport - especially the added dimension that off-piste opens up. This season, I will be a Resort and Freshtracks Rep respectively in Mürren (23rd Jan – 6th Feb) and on an All Mountain Instruction trip to St Anton in March. I live in Dorset with a bridge-playing wife, a springer spaniel and several chickens. I enjoy fishing, tennis, walking (recent highlights include the Inca Trail and the South West and Pembrokeshire Coast Paths) and reading (my book club is currently on book no.187 and we welcome suggestions…)
