Current conditions:
The mountain starts off gently, with a good beginner area at its base, before it steepens to provide long blues, steeper blacks and towards the summit some great steep terrain. Snow may not be as plentiful here as further west at the likes of Whistler and Revelstoke, but the interior snow is usually very light, dry and fluffy and rarely gets tracked out fast thanks to the lack of crowds.
The purpose-built village is very convenient, with all the amenities you need – just remember to buy most of your food down at a supermarket in the valley as prices will be considerably lower. The location of Panorama makes it the perfect roadtrip destination. Start your trip in Banff to ski Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mt Norquay, then move on to Kicking Horse near Golden, before heading down to Panorama to complete a loop back on the way to Calgary.
