The vertical is unrivalled, with over 1700m available from top to bottom, whilst the resort is home to some epic, steep tree skiing. There are also some more mellow options, including a full length green run, but if you’re making your way across from the UK it will most likely to be to ski the plentiful powder than lands on this resort.
The beginner area has been moved to the Stella Chair, above the Revelation Gondola. This is located close to the Mackenzie Outpost hut, allowing groups of all abilities to share a hot chocolate together. The magic carpet serving the area has been upgraded to feature a cover, protecting skiers from the elements!
At Turtle Creek, some long green runs that follow cat tracks down the mountain. But really this is a mountain for intermediate skiers and boarders upwards. Confident intermediates will love the long, groomed blues that drop right back down to the base – in good snow conditions these will keep anyone happy for several days.
But most people come here to enjoy the resort’s famed steep terrain. From the summit of The Stoke Chair, North Bowl and South Bowl open up some amazing open skiing – head here when the sun is out. If the clouds are down however, head to the gladed skiing served by The Ripper chair or drop into the trees below the Revelation Gondola.
In addition, there are fantastic heliskiing and catskiing options nearby.
Although there is some decent accommodation and a few bars and restaurants at the foot of the Gondola, the grand development plans made back in the early 2000s were scuppered by the financial crash in 2008 – therefore there is not a vast amount to do up at the resort. We’d recommend staying instead in the lively working town of Revelstoke itself, a few minutes away from the hill by bus or car. Here you’ll find some great B&B accommodation, numerous bars and restaurants as well as some good ski hire shops; it is also an excellent, old-school vibe ski town.
Its location makes it difficult to get to from the UK, so we’d recommend visiting here as part of a Canadian roadtrip taking in the likes of Kicking Horse and Banff to the east, or Whistler and Sun Peaks if you’re coming across from Vancouver.

Rain and mild conditions dominate across the Coastals, BC Interior and Rockies through this week and into the weekend; this will change abruptly as temperatures take a long walk off a short pier and this precipitation rapidly changes to snow – lots of it in the Coastals, with up to 40cm expected down.
Much of this will blow itself out before it hits the Interior, with the Rockies seeing a few flurries moving in off the Plains.
Over the St Lawrence, things start cold before improving as snowy weather moves in, bringing steady, consistent snowfall for the end of this week and into the weekend.
