British Medal Hopes at the 2026 Winter Olympics

Alpine Skiing

  • Dave Ryding is competing in his final season and could end his career with an Olympic medal. With one World Cup slalom win under his belt, he remains a strong contender in a competitive field.
  • Laurie Taylor (Ski Club Sponsored), who placed 4th in Levi, Finland at the opening World Cup slalom.

Freestyle Skiing

  • Kirsty Muir – 2026 X games slopestyle gold medallist. Muir was also a silver medallist at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, Muir will be hoping to add an Olympic medal in 2026. Muir also has two bronze medals in X Games and is a World Cup winner in both Slopestyle and Big Air. Muir is definitely a firm favourite for a podium in Italy.
  • Zoe Atkin – Atkin is the current Halfpipe World Champion and 2026 X Games Superpipe champion. She also has a silver and gold X Games medal in Superpipe from 2024 and 2023. In Beijing, Atkin placed 9th in half pipe but is a firm favourite for the podium this year.

Freestyle Snowboarding

  • Mia Brookes – Brookes is the 2026 X Games Slopestyle champion and two other X Games medals in previous years. A hot favourite in Italy to medal!

Snowboard Cross

  • Charlotte Bankes is Britain’s standout medal hope in snowboard cross. A world silver medallist and multiple World Cup winner, she returns from injury with strong form and high expectations.
