Dear members,
This is to let you know that the date of this yearโs AGM is November 13th. We are aiming to hold the meeting both in person and online โ our first attempt at a hybrid AGM – with more to follow.
This notice fulfils the Club’s obligation in line with our Articles of Association to serve at least three months’ notice.
The Council wishes to remind Members that:
Council members play an active role in overseeing the Club. This involves at least one evening meeting each month of Council, reading Council papers and probably also attending a Council Advisory group meeting, most likely once a month or once every two months. The time commitment shouldnโt be too onerous but obviously the position comes with the responsibility of being a director of the Club and its commercial subsidiary so some experience in a business or similar organisation is useful.
Regarding new Council members; Council often endorses candidates who have specific skills we believe Council would benefit from. This year we are still looking for Council members with finance, company/club secretarial experience, HR and marketing experience. Anyone interested in becoming a Council nominated Candidate should get in touch with the Ski club via before the end of September.
In addition, it is possible to stand for election as a new Council member separately from Council nomination, if you have the support of two other members and put in an application to Ski Club via at least three calendar months before the meeting i.e. the 13 August 2025.
The Annual Report and Accounts along with the detailed agenda and summary of those standing will be published by the 15th of October. Previous years’ AGM reports and presentations can be found on the Ski Club website here.
Yours sincerely,
Angus Maciver
Chairman
For and on behalf of Council of the Ski Club of Great Britain
