The Snomad Ski Resort Awards have named Alta Badia (Dolomites, Italy) as Europe’s Best Overall Ski Resort for 2025, following analysis of 140,000+ verified ratings from real skiers and snowboarders during the 2024/25 season. The awards are independent and unbiased, determined by genuine guest experiences and are not based on paid-for nominations.

St. Anton Am Arlberg (Austria) – Received the coveted award for best après-ski. One of the reviewers said, “All-round brilliant resort, and no doubt that it has the best après in the world!”. This further cements Austria’s reputation for legendary partying.
Pal Arinsal (Andorra) – For those looking for high-quality turns at a low price, Pal Arinsal narrowly pipped Val Cenis (France) to claim the award for best value for money. Andorra showed that, even as costs are rising, it can still keep prices low while maintaining a great skiing experience.
Morillon (France) – With a 4.93/5.00 rating for family-friendliness, Morillon secured the title of Best Ski Resort in Europe for Families.
Schladming (Austria) – Secured the award for Best Groomed Runs. A true favourite for corduroy lovers. One reviewer commented, “The pistes are expertly groomed with snow cannons topping up snow levels. This means even low snowfall is generally not a problem.”
Livigno (Italy) – Won the award for Best Snow Parks in Europe. One skier recalled, “The ski parks are a highlight for me with options for every ability in Livigno”. A must visit destination for any UK-based park rats!
You’ll find our reps in some very well-decorated resorts around Europe.
Verbier – Secured gold awards for Best Powder Skiing, Best Moguls, and Best Off-Piste. One expert skier said, “Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful resort. Many freeride and powder zones.” Verbier regularly proves itself as a mecca for those who love technical skiing or backcountry terrain.
Ischgl – Austria was one of the big winners at this year’s awards. Finishing 3rd overall in Europe but winning Best for Advanced Skiers and Best for Snowboarders, Ischgl is showing its strengths as an all-rounder. One Snomad reviewer says, “Terrific all-round resort with excellent skiing, après and restaurants.”
Mayrhofen – Maybe it was because of the legendary Harikari slope or some of the incredible lift-served off-piste but Mayrhofen secured gold for Best for Experts. Sam from Snomad says, “This is my favourite resort in the world, great on-piste skiing but it really comes alive when you ski off-piste in and around the 150er cable car. Mandatory drops and deep powder makes it technical but fun.”
Davos Klosters – Narrowly beating another Ski Club Partner resort, Wengen, to receive the award for Best Ski Schools in Europe. Intermediate skier Freddie says, “Very good ski school, and lots of family-friendly areas especially in Madrisa.”
Snomad pits resorts from all over the world against each other and there was a more surprising US winner this year.
Grand Targhee (Wyoming) secured the overall win this year. This is a lesser-known name for many UK skiers, but a consistent favourite with American skiers. “With over 500 inches of snow a year and an impeccable ratings profile across multiple categories, it may be a surprise winner in name recognition, but not in the data – a no-frills, true skier’s resort,” said Dan Lever, founder of Snomad. The resort is just a few miles from the world-famous Jackson Hole and has a growing cult following.
Aspen Snowmass – picked up the award for Best for Expert Skiers in the worldwide category.
Revelstoke was voted Best for Powder in the worldwide category, while Kicking Horse also enjoyed success as the Best Resort for off-piste worldwide.
Unlike other awards in the industry that rely on paid nominations or allow resorts to collect their own votes, the Snomad Ski Resort Awards are determined exclusively by verified ratings from actual visitors who have experienced these resorts first-hand.
“This approach ensures that winning resorts truly deserve recognition based on guest satisfaction rather than marketing budgets or social media follower counts,” explains Dan Lever of Snomad. “When real skiers and snowboarders decide the winners, receiving an award is truly an achievement to be proud of.”
This year marks an expansion of the awards programme, with winners now announced across 20 categories in three regional classifications – Worldwide, European, and North American, allowing for more diverse recognition of excellence across different markets.
