The Clubโs Expectations of Its Members
Members of the Club are expected to treat fellow members, and others with whom they interact, with courtesy and kindness and to respect their rights, dignity and worth. The Club requires the same of its staff, Club Reps and other volunteers and contractors (such as instructors and mountain guides).
Each member is an ambassador for the Club and should, through their words and actions, promote the Clubโs reputation. Members should not do or say anything to bring the Club, its members or staff into disrepute.
Threatening or intimidating language and/or behaviour (including verbal or physical abuse and inappropriate gestures) by members is not tolerated and members should seek to protect others from all types of verbal and physical abuse.
Safe Skiing
Members should conduct themselves (both on- and off-snow) in a way that takes all reasonable steps to protect their own safety and the safety of others. Members should familiarise themselves with local rules and regulations (including any mandatory insurance requirements) applicable to the snowsports activities they are undertaking and with the Clubโs Skiing Policies (including its Off-Piste Skiing Policy).
Members should ensure that they have appropriate insurance for the snowsports activities they undertake (including having regard to locally applicable legal requirements from time to time). If members need assistance in identifying these requirements, the Club may be able to direct them to appropriate sources ().
Club Policies
The Club recommends that members follow the Clubโs Skiing Policies (including its Off-Piste Skiing Policy).
Members must comply with any other Member policies and statements, including, for example, its Diversity and Equality and any Safeguarding statements.
Copies of the Clubโs Skiing Policies and other Member policies and statements in place from time to time are published on its website.
Member Concerns
If a member has a concern about the conduct of a fellow member, a Club Rep or other volunteer, an employee or contractor engaged by the Club, they should raise the issue with an appropriate Club Rep if the issue relates to conduct in resort. If the conduct in question relates to a Club Rep or if for any reason the member does not feel comfortable raising the issue with a Club Rep, members should contact . Members are encouraged to provide their name and contact details when raising a concern as this is likely to assist the Club in investigating the concern and, if the Club in its sole and absolute discretion deems it appropriate to do so, in taking steps to address the concern. The Club will generally seek to address any concerns in confidence, to the extent possible having regard to the nature of the concern.
Revocation of Membership
If a member does not comply with this Code of Conduct, the Club may, in accordance with the Clubโs constitution, revoke that memberโs membership.
Updating this Code of Conduct
The Club can update or replace this Code of Conduct from time to time. The up-to-date Code of Conduct will be available on the Clubโs website.
