Large resort spread across seven base stations, reachable by road, or by rail railway and including links with Blue Cow and Guthega. The lift pass covers 47 lifts - the largest area in Australia. Perisher has a better snow record than Thredbo - on the other side of the mountain range and snowmaking has been improved. But the slopes offer a vertical less than 430m. The main area is Perisher, where lifts and runs - practically all easy or intermediate - range over lightly wooded sectors towards the other hills. Blue Cow has more challenging terrain and a huge terrain park and snowcross course. Perisher village is very spread out, but recent investment has resulted more facilities and lodging. You can stay at the village, or in Jindabyne - 30km away, but with a lively youth-oriented nightlife scene.
