St Christoph Ski Resort
The tiny hamlet of St Christoph is St Anton's little brother, but its smart hotels and ideal location make it a great holiday option.
St Christoph lies at a lofty 1800m and is conveniently located in one of the Alps' snowiest places, the Arlberg, meaning snow reliability is not an issue here. A fast quad takes skiers and boarders to Galzig, right at the heart of the St Anton ski area and with blues back into resort at the end of the day, this is one of the more gentle parts of the ski area famed for its extensive off piste and steep terrain. It is also very quick to get across to Lech and Zürs via the Ahlenmähder chair and the Flexenbahn gondola.
The resort itself is barely more than a hamlet home to a handful of hotels, including one of the Alps' best hotels, the Arlberg Hospiz. Prices are high, but with that you get incredible facilities, a world-class restaurant and real old-school Austrian luxury. Getting here is simple, either drive from Innsbruck airport or catch the train to St Anton – the former takes around 75 minutes, with the latter a little longer.
