Ryanair (ryanair.com) flies to Poprad-Tatry from Stansted three times-weekly from £33 return, and Wizz Air (wizzair.com) from Luton twice weekly from £29 return.


For the High Tatras (regiontatry.sk) resorts of Tatranská Lomnica, Starý Smokovec and Štrbské Pleso (vt.sk), Colin stayed at AquaCity (aquacity.sk), which has doubles from €99, including breakfast.


Transfers (poprad-jasna.sk/en) to Jasná (jasna.sk) in the Liptov region (visitliptov. sk) cost €80 for four people. Here Colin stayed at the slopeside Hotel Posta (tmrhotels.com), which has doubles from €160, including breakfast. As with all TMR hotels, the price includes a lift pass, which otherwise starts at €30 a day (gopass.travel).
