More resorts are set to open up this weekend in France and when they do, very good conditions can be expected on the slopes. A lot of snow has fallen and a good base can be found in most places.
Arguably the best conditions in the Alps at present can be found in the Espace Killy, where 97 runs and 40 lifts were open on Friday. Reports coming in from our Freshtracks groups have backed this up – it looks fantastic out there for the time of year!
Further south, good skiing can also be found at the likes of Les Deux Alpes and Alpe d’Huez, particularly up high. The only place in need of a little more snow is the northern French Alps, but the good news is that the Portes du Soleil is set to open this weekend.
Fortunately, a big snowstorm is set to sweep in during the course of Sunday and drop potentially as much as 50cm (perhaps more in places) on the French mountains. The outlook is then looking unsettled and wintry throughout next week, so keep an eye out for some big snowfall totals.
