An initiative, backed by Snowsports England, that makes learning to ski or board straightforward and cost effective.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time, a novice in pursuit of that next breakthrough, or an experienced enthusiast who just wants to log some time on the slopes before the annual holiday, Snowsport England’s GO SKI GO BOARD makes it easy.
The national participation campaign was launched in 2013, with the aim of providing those that visit dozens of artificial slopes and indoor snow centres throughout the UK a transparent and affordable way to get into snowsports – without hidden costs.
There are different programmes available, depending on your level of experience:
TRY – a taster session with friendly instructors for those who want to see what skiing and snowboarding are all about before committing to a six week course.
GET – skiing or snowboarding sessions build a solid foundation of fundamental skills with six beginner sessions normally spread over six weeks.
GO – sessions are perfect for those who have mastered the basics of skiing or snowboarding but want to improve their technique and style with fully qualified instructors.
JUST – ski or board sessions are for those that want to practice within a social environment, without the instructional aspect.

Although skiing and snowboarding are sometimes seen as being expensive, GO SKI GO BOARD aims to make snowsports more accessible by combining lift passes, lessons, equipment and clothing hire in one package. Don’t forget to bring gloves!
When contacting slopes about booking courses interested participants should specifically mention the GO SKI GO BOARD programme.
