Cesana Torinese Ski Resort
Little Italian village linking the Sauze d'Oulx, Sestriere and Sansicario side of the Milky Way to the Clavière, Montgenèvre side.
Cesana Torinese is a good sized resort that is well suited to intermediates. It is in the middle of the Via Lattea ski area which has 400km of pistes, served by 63 lifts. The lifts out of the resort are a 15 minute walk from the centre (there is no bus). Beginners should take the gondola up to Sansicario where there is a good sized beginners area. Intermediates will be well at home as almost 80% of the runs are either blue or red. Intermediates can take either the gondola or the chairlift out of Cesena to any of the ski areas up the mountain and ski freely. Advanced skiers also have a significant amount of terrain at their disposal. Whilst all parts of the mountain have black runs, the highest concentration is from Monte Motta at the top of the mountain - take the draglift to the top and you can drop right down to Sestriere on some challenging runs.
There is plenty of accommodation is Cesana Torinese including hotels, apartments and chalets. The closest airport to Cesana Torinese is Turin which is a 1.5 hour transfer away.
