As has been the case for much of the winter so far, the Italian Alps has missed out on the recent snowfall, especially in the Dolomites where things remained dry once again. That being said, beautiful sunny skies were the order of the day on the Tuesday of half term week.
One place to pick up fresh snow was the Aosta Valley and resorts such as Pila and Courmayeur, which recorded fresh snowfall overnight into Tuesday. This further improved the conditions here which are on the whole good and the best in the country at present.
There’s no new to speak of in the forecast for most of Italy, with the Aosta Valley possibly catching a covering on Wednesday. Sunny skies and light winds are expected right through into the weekend, by which point the freezing level may have reached a very un-February-like 3500m.
