If you're looking to ski both the Les Arcs and La Plagne side of the Paradiski, you're perfectly placed to do so.

That being said, the variety of tree-lined slopes directly above the villages is often enough to keep many skiers happy – the three fast chairs in the sector serve a great network of long, wooded slopes.

However, more adventurous skiers will want to head right out across to ski the iconic Aiguille Rouge and take on the long decent to Villaroger, or take the cable car across to La Plagne and head to the lofty Bellecôte Glacier.

The villages are both pretty, in stark contrast to the mega resorts of La Plagne and Les Arcs further up the hill. Although there are some small hotels, much of the accommodation comes in the form of catered or self-catered chalets, many of which are traditionally wood-clad and are run by British tour operators. Getting here is simple via the valley and Aime or Bourg-Saint-Maurice – catch the Eurostar and TGV or drive around 2.5 hours from Geneva.

After the madness of the last few weeks – which has seen large amounts of snowfall combined with quickly rising temperatures – things are settling down over the French Alps. Sun through the early part of this week gives way to cloud and overcast conditions, which will help elevate temperatures as warmth is trapped below this cloud cover.

The freezing line will climb from around 1,500m to the mid-2000s, entering a spring-like freeze thaw pattern overnight and throughout the day. The freezing line will peak at 2,500m before, on average, dropping again into the weekend.

The long term forecast will see a flurry of snowfall into the beginning of next week, followed by fine, dry and bright conditions as high pressure moves over the region.
