Although the ski area is small, with five main lifts and around 24km of slopes, the main attractive here is the value for money when on your ski holiday.
If you’re looking to develop your technique and learn from instructors, there are few cheaper places to do so in Europe – plus a lift pass will set you back less than half the price of that in the Alps.
Accommodation is scattered through the forests at the foot of the slopes, so choose carefully to place yourself by the lifts to ensure maximum ski-in-ski- out convenience. The medieval town of Brasov is well worth exploring and as you’re in Transylvania, the numerous Dracula-related attractions make for a great day trip. Travel here from Bucharest – the airport lies around two hours to the south.

Cold temperatures rule the roost across southern and eastern reaches this week, with a large dump of snowfall expected for Romania – at least a foot of snow is expected down across higher ground in this region. Elsewhere in the Balkans things remain cold with a smaller total of snow down.
Things remain cold across the Balkans throughout the rest of this forecast period; in Romania, there will be a spike in temperatures towards the end of the week, before temperatures fall again and snowfall returns.
Across the north of the region, things remain mild with temperatures hovering around freezing at resort level – a burst of snow is expected on Thursday, before temperatures climb over the weekend.
