This holiday is a day touring week with local mountain guides aimed at intermediate and advanced off piste skiers. Skinning experience is useful but not necessary. You should have a good level of fitness as climbs could be up to three hours.

The Silvretta Montafon ski area is located in the Vorarlberg region of Austria, on the west of the Silvretta mountain range. To the east, you'll find the more famous ski areas of Ischgl and Galtür. The area comprises of several villages including Schruns, St Gallenkirch, Gaschurn and Gargellen, which are linked by 140km of pistes. There is a good variety of terrain and a number of excellent mountain restaurants offering good value Austrian specialties.

The 40km-long Montafon valley contains eleven resorts and four main lift systems. The biggest is the Nova area (linking Gaschurn and St Gallenkirch) and this is now linked to the Hochjoch area and Schruns. Gargellen and Golm are smaller ski areas in the valley.

The base for the week is a comfortable three star hotel in Partenen at the end of the valley. Accommodation is on a single occupancy, half board basis.
