A combination of enviable snow cover, impressive terrain and a season that lasts most of the year makes Tignes one of the most dependable winter destinations in France. From Tignes, adventurous riders can access the Espace Killy, undoubtedly one of the most expansive and varied areas in the Alps. Encompassing Tignes and Val d’Isère, this extensive area serves over 300km of pistes and easily accessible backcountry zones, offering something for all abilities and tastes.

Tignes has a laid back and friendly atmosphere when compared to its glamorous neighbour. The lively après scene caters for all budgets with an emphasis on good times, whether that be a quiet drink with friends or a spot of tabletop dancing at the infamous La Folie Douce. This mix of energetic on and off mountain activities will keep you coming back year after year.

Holiday price includes: 3 nights half board, twin share, return coach transfers, 3 days with instructors, Ski Club Leader
Lift price information: Espace Killy 3 day lift pass approximately €155

Weekend trips are a fantastic way to get a quick ski fix and Tignes is a reliable choice with access to high altitude glacial terrain. This trip includes three full days of tuition with local instructors – maximum skiing for minimum time off work.

It's possible to ski higher, further and longer in Tignes than almost any other resort in the Alps, thanks to it's altitude and the Grand Motte glacier. Skiing is on offer the vast majority of the year, with the winter season running from October till May, alongside six weeks of summer glacial skiing.

Tignes shares the huge Espace Killy ski area with it's neighbouring resort Val d'Isere. Between the two, there are 300km of pistes for all abilities on offer, served by 78 lifts. Despite sharing slopes, they could not be more different however. Where Val d'Isere is historic and expensive, Tignes is more laid back and friendly than its chic neighbor and with that come prices that are less eye watering, there is also lively après scene that attracts those that are looking for a slightly cheaper and more cheerful experience.

The resort is comprised of five separate villages, all purpose built and to varying degrees of attractiveness. Each one has their positives and drawbacks and price tags to suit varying budgets, read more in our town tab. Appearance has improved across the board, while all are linked by an increasingly efficient lift system.

You will be staying at the Hotel Le Paquis 3* on a Half Board basis, located in the centre of Tignes with incredible views of the Grand Motte and surrounding summits and a short ski down to the lift station each morning. The hotel also has wellness facilities with a sauna, hamam and jacuzzi. The rooms and communal areas are decorated in a traditional alpine chalet style.
