Anzere Ski Resort
A compact, sunny resort high above the Rhone Valley, Anzere is a hidden Swiss gem.
It may be located right next to Crans-Montana and just the other side of the Rhone Valley from Verbier, but Anzere remains a little off the radar for British skiers. However, the 58km of sunny slopes offer good variety and stunning views southwards towards the towering peaks of the main alpine ridge. There's a good beginner zone in town, but if you're not too confident, the resort runs may prove challenging and downloading the gondola is probably the best option.
The resort centre is small and convenient, with easy access from the valley and the city of Sion. Off the slopes, winter walking is very popular and there's a 3km toboggan slope from Les Rousses.
