California has seen an absolute abundance of snowfall this season, with Mammoth and Squaw Valley having the largest snowfall in the country.
This doesn’t look set to change. The National Weather Service issued a springtime Winter Storm Watch a couple of days ago to cover for California. The timespan on that was from Tuesday night to Thursday. That was set to bring 2-3 feet of snow to Tahoe.
At Mammoth the snow should arrive on the evening of Tuesday 26 March. Stick on the pistes there on Tuesday and there should be a whole lot of powder to ride later in the week.
In Colorado, Aspen has enjoyed 18cm of snowfall in the past few days which has topped up the spring skiing there nicely, and there’s more due at the weekend, and Steamboat is similar.
They might be hundreds of miles apart but it’s a similar story in Utah, though Park City might see that new snowfall before the arrival of the weekend.
Snow in the Tetons has seen 10cm in the past 72 hours (as of Tuesday 26 March), though it’ll be a little bit cloudier than the rest of the States there, with Jackson Hole enjoying a warm but covered day of spring skiing in Wyoming, as is also the case for Squaw back in California.
