Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah tends to see some of the best snow in Utah, and Solitude is no exception; though unlike its neighbours - Alta, Park City, and Snowbird it tends to be delightfully crowd free, even on powder days.
While in the past the resort tended to have a reputation as a locals hill, substantial investment has expanded and updated the infastructure. With the resort seeing more than 12m of snow on average per season, there's plenty of powder riding to go round. The terrain tends to be steep but short powder runs for experts, while the lower slopes cater for beginner and intermediate tastes only. Brighton Ski Resort can be accessed via the shared SolBright run, opening up another 425 hectares of terrain and perfect for snowboarders.
The resort tends to be well prices, especially when compared to nearby resorts. On the flip side, apres, dining and evening activities are limited, with a rather subdued atmosphere.
