Vialattea is synonymous with the vast expanses and panoramic slopes that wind through the scenic woods of the Cottian Alps and cross the border to the French resort of Montgenèvre. The slopes connect charming and traditional Alpine chalet villages with modern towns equipped with extensive amenities, representing the very best of skiing in the Alps.
Home to more than 400km of perfectly groomed pistes, skiers can explore over 300 slopes interconnected by 70 cutting-edge lifts, without taking off your skis, and included in one ski pass. Vialattea caters to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, with a range of slopes that includes ample area for beginners to find their feet, in addition to a high number of red runs for intermediate and more experienced skiers.
With 80% of the skiable area above 1,900m, the region is extremely weather resilient, ensuring exceptional snow conditions throughout the season. The terrain extends from the 1,350m of Cesana, to its highest point at the 2,800m high Motta peak, offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Spanning two countries, the eight resorts include Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Sansicario, Cesana, Claviere, Pragelato, and Oulx in Italy, as well as Montgenèvre in France, with each resort offering a unique mountain experience.
Sestriere delivers great slopes and infrastructure, offering the convenience of ski-in/ski-out accommodation and a plethora of restaurants. At 2,035m it is also one of Italy’s highest resorts, ensuring optimum snow conditions throughout the season.
Sun-drenched Sauze d’Oulx is particularly popular with skiers who enjoy wide and fast tree-lined runs. The stone buildings and cobbled streets of the old town contain the resort’s famous nightlife, from après bars to cosy wine cellars, making it the liveliest and most sought-after ski resort in Vialattea.
In the heart of Vialattea is the small and laid-back alpine village of Sansicario. Its prime location at the centre of the 400km area makes it an ideal base for exploring the region.
Towards the French border lies the hidden gem of Claviere, a scenic village nestled among the mountains, offering magnificent landscapes and uncrowded slopes. With Montgenèvre just a short ski away, Claviere offers the option to ski two countries in one holiday, giving you the best of both worlds
Vialattea’s resorts are host to some of the most famous ski slopes in the Alps, where millions of enthusiasts gather every season, allowing expert skiers to follow in the tracks of great champions.
The ski area also offers numerous attractions and activities for families and children, with something to keep everyone occupied. Little ones can enjoy the baby fun parks in Sansicario and Sauze d’Oulx – designed to provide an interactive and fun learning environment – or, alternatively, book in for private or group lessons from experts, providing the perfect introduction to the slopes.
For non-skiers, Vialattea also offers a variety of unique experiences, including Husky sledding, mountain snowmobile tours, and, for the more adventurous, paragliding. Once an appetite has been worked up on, or off, the slopes, there are charming mountain restaurants scattered across the valley to be explored.
