The slopes may be low (topping out at 1488m) and snow reliability might not be the same as in the Alps,
but recent investment in lifts, snowmaking and slopes facilities has really improved the skiing at Feldberg.
There’s decent variety in the 26km of slopes, which includes good learning areas and several blacks, plus lots of magic carpets and learning lifts at the base of the hill.
There’s decent accommodation at the base of the hill, mostly in small hotels and holiday apartments, plus there’s some good value youth hostels for the budget conscious. Off the slopes there’s a lot to do, especially if you’re a fan of hiking and cross country skiing, as the local hills and forests have a great network of prepared and groomed trails.

Dry conditions will dominate over the German Alps for this week and into the weekend, with a few flurries of snow albeit not enough to mark the snow stake. Alongside this, temperatures will remain cool rather than cold, with the freezing line jumping around on a pogo stick throughout, starting around 2,000m before fluctuating between 1,600m and 800m.
Things turn unsettled again as the weekend comes in with a few flurries along the way, as temperatures turn cold as the weekend concludes.
