Snow overview for Austria

22 March 2019

Friday 22nd March saw a bright and sunny day for the majority of our featured Austrian resorts. As we head towards Easter there was a few signs of spring conditions, with temperatures largely around +7C at mid-mountain level.

There is good skiing up high at glacial resorts such as Kaunertal, Hintertux and Stubai, with the majority of slopes looking well groomed and fairly quiet. Major ski areas such as the Arlberg, Zillertal and Silvretta were running the majority of their lifts on Tuesday; allowing for access to the resorts summits, and providing some great views.

In east Austria, Bad Kleinkirchheim has the lowest depth of all our featured resorts, with only 90cm in comparison to Stubai’s whopping 485cm.

For those heading to Austria over the weekend, expect a continuation of the current weather, before the start of next week which is likely to bring clouds and snow.
