Westendorf Ski Resort
Westendorf is a pretty resort located at the southern end of the SkiWelt, with its own area of varied slopes.
The Alpenrosenbahn whisks skiers and boarders right up to the local slopes, which offer good variety and the option of skiing long runs back down to the valley floor each time. One of these routes heads down to Brixen im Thale, from which the Hochbrixen gondola takes you right into the heart of the SkiWelt and the 284km of slopes. These are ideal for intermediates looking to clock up big miles on piste, or beginners looking to take their skills to the next level – there are few challenges for advanced and expert skiers here. Regardless of your standard however, you'll benefit from a world-class lift system and comprehensive snowmaking coverage.
Westendorf has a well located resort centre that has bags of Tirolean charm. Accommodation comes mostly in traditional hotels and guesthouses and Tirolean fare is very much top of the menu. You can close to the foot of the Alpenrosenbahn for the best access to the slopes each morning, but note its a short walk into town for the evening if you do so. The resort is only an hour from Innsbruck, so is nice and easy to get to.
