Nestled beneath the grandeur of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur is a timeless alpine gem where tradition meets adventure. With its breathtaking scenery, exceptional snow, and warm Italian charm, this resort captures the very essence of winter. Just under two hours from Milan or Geneva, Courmayeur offers an unforgettable experience for skiers, food lovers, and families alike.
Courmayeurโs ski area features 18 lifts linking the slopes of Checrouit and Val Veny, offering 33 beautifully groomed runs surrounded by forests and sunny valleys. Thanks to advanced snowmaking that covers over 80% of the terrain, conditions remain ideal throughout the season. Skiers can explore a 1,550m vertical drop between Arp and Dolonne, with everything from beginner-friendly runs to thrilling expert descents.
This alpine haven has produced Italian ski legends such as Federica Brignone and Guglielmo Bosca.
In honour of local star Federica Brignone, Courmayeur has dedicated Slope 14 to her achievements as the first Italian woman to win the overall World Cup title. Beginning at 2,260m at Col Checrouit, this run stretches for 1,500m with a 370m drop and a challenging gradient. With Mont Blanc as its backdrop, Slope 14 symbolises the strength and grace that define both Federica and Courmayeur itself.
One of Courmayeurโs most enchanting experiences is Buongiorno Courmayeur, sunrise skiing at the foot of Mont Blanc. Limited to just 50 skiers and snowboarders, it begins before dawn at the Dolonne cable car. As the first light touches the mountain peaks, carve down the freshly groomed slopes in peaceful silence – a truly unforgettable experience.
Courmayeur is deeply committed to supporting families and young skiers to get on the slopes. Children under 8 ski free when accompanied by an adult, while youth up to 16 receive a 30% discount, and those up to 24 enjoy 20% off. For little ones not yet ready to ski, the Mini Club Biancaneve at Plan Checrouit provides a joyful haven of games and care, allowing parents to enjoy the slopes worry-free.
Thrill seekers will find their playground at Arp, where two high-adrenaline runs begin at 2,750m. The north-facing black slope, with its steep gradient, delivers a true test for expert skiers. Courmayeur also offers legendary off-piste freeride terrain from the Youla and Arp lifts, known for its untouched snow, deep couloirs, and sweeping views of Mont Blanc. These routes have even hosted stages of the Freeride World Tour, making them a must for adventurous skiers and snowboarders.
Beyond the slopes, Courmayeurโs charm continues in its cuisine. With more than 20 restaurants on the mountain, visitors can enjoy everything from hearty alpine fare to gourmet dining. A morning cappuccino, a leisurely lunch on a sunlit terrace, and an evening meal under the stars, each moment celebrates Italian style and hospitality. Aprรจs ski at Plan Checrouit comes alive with music and laughter, while the cable car, open until midnight, makes it easy to enjoy fine dining or reach the Val Veny restaurants by snowmobile for an unforgettable night out.
Courmayeur blends elegance with wilderness. The Checrouit side offers sophistication and relaxation, while Val Veny reveals the raw beauty of nature with forest trails and cosy alpine huts. Together they create a balance that defines Courmayeur, refined yet authentic, lively yet cool.
From 29 November 2025 to 6 April 2026, Courmayeur Mont Blanc welcomes visitors to write their own winter story. Experience an unforgettable trip at the foot of Europeโs highest peak.
