Founded in 2009 by Tim Shepherd, SnowShepherd initially specialized in avalanche rescue equipment and airbags. The discovery of durable French work gloves in the Alps by Brandon Shepherd in 2011 inspired the company to develop its own line of high-quality gloves. Today, SnowShepherd is renowned for its robust and reliable products, tailored for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals.

Our product range includes an exciting range of gloves and mitten, SnowShepherd Lotus Outerwear 2.0, new Lotus bibs launching in October 2024, and the upcoming SnowShepherd Race collection. Black Diamond was born from the legendary Chouinard Equipment and was a natural continuation of the passion and ethos that Yvon Chouinard and his friends started in 1965. Peter Metcalf and the employees of Chouinard Equipment took over in 1989, changed the name to Black Diamond and moved to Salt Lake City, to be at the base of the Wasatch mountains. In September 1996, a European office was installed in Basel, Switzerland – bringing the brand closer to the European market and making products available here too. Meanwhile this office has been moved from Switzerland to Innsbruck, Austria, in 2016.)
