On Snow Experience

During this trip you will have six full days of tuition from some of the best instructors in the Alps, who aim to teach, guide, improve and entertain you! They will leverage their deep knowledge of the Grand Massif ski area to provide you with advanced techniques and skills, ensuring you make the most of the conditions available. You’ll be split into groups of up to 6 based on your ski profile. This trip is for Purple and Gold off piste skiers – it is essential that guests have the correct ski profile for the holiday they would like to book. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your instructor or Ski Club Rep.

When participating in a Purple/Gold off piste holiday you should be prepared to do some ski touring at some point during the trip. Where possible the lift system will be used to access off piste terrain, however if you need to venture a bit further afield in order to access the best off piste conditions, then your instructors may suggest ski touring. This will all be dependent upon conditions and the instructors you have on your trip.

Diane Moreau

Diane Moreau

My name is Diane Moreau. I live with my family in Meze, a small town in the south of France next to the Etang de Thau. I have a 22-year-old son. I'm passionate about skiing and sailing, and it became my job.

I really enjoy sharing my skills and knowledge with my clients, helping them to improve and having fun at the same time. I adapt my lessons to individual needs so that everyone progresses at their own pace.

Environmental aspect is also a key part of the way I teach. My favourite resort is Flaine; I've been riding this mountain since 1991, always looking for hidden slopes. Sharing them with my customers is my greatest pleasure! Smooth instruction helps them gain confidence and makes the most of their rides!

Pete & Rachel

We're both proud Cumbrians with a long standing love of the outdoors and we have spent more than a decade chasing winter across the Alps. Our ski season journey includes 3 memorable winters in Flaine, a resort that feels like a second home. Although we're both dedicated snowboarders (sorry!), we're keen to expand our skills and try our hand at ski de fond this year. We're excited to be back in Flaine and can't wait to host this season - see you on the mountain!

Philippe Clerc

Philippe Clerc

I've been a ski instructor and mountain leader for over 30 years and I'm one of the few people who live in Flaine all year round. I love showing people around my adventure terrain and teaching them the best way to explore it safely. In winter it's free ride skiing, ski touring or snowshoeing and in summer hiking and mountain biking as a guide. I will try to bring you all my teaching experience and knowledge of the unique mountain environment of Flaine!

Robin Bjoroy

Hello. With both Norwegian and British family, my introduction to skiing was during my early years on the west coast of Norway where skiing was both recreation and transportation. A move to UK around secondary school with school ski trips to Italy cemented my love for alpine skiing. Like perhaps many, I had a hiatus due to work and family commitments but actively returned to skiing when work took me back to Norway for a spell some years ago. The mountains and the ocean are my happy places, skiing and SCUBA diving being my main passions.

No longer working, in recent seasons I’ve very much embraced off-piste and also ski touring, there’s something special about the quieter and untouched parts of the mountains. I now spend as much of the winters in the mountains as I’m able to. Joining the reps team was a natural choice for me to also have the opportunity to share time with others who enjoy the mountains and support members on ski holidays. I’m very much looking forward to meeting and skiing with you.

I love skiing and have done since I was a kid. I learned to ski in Glasgow and would ski the Scottish resorts in the winter. Then when I was 30 friends invited me out to Val D’Isere. I was blown away and from that year on have never missed a season’s skiing in the Alps.

Predominantly ski in the French Alps, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. I’ve gained a lot of off-piste experience over the last 20 years and have been on numerous Freshtrack holidays. I’m now really excited to be a Rep and looking forward to meeting members and enjoying the mountains together.

Holiday FAQs

Everything you need to know about Freshtracks holidays.

What is a Freshtracks holiday?

Freshtracks holidays are group ski trips organised by the Ski Club of Great Britain for solo travellers, couples, and friends who want to ski with like-minded people. We offer social skiing, instructional, off piste, and touring holidays. On all holidays, a dedicated Freshtracks Rep will be on hand to make sure the holiday runs smoothly.

Find out more here – Holidays – Ski Club Of Great Britain.

Are single rooms available?

Single room availability will be shown in the "View Dates & Prices" tab on each holiday page, located under the holiday name. If single rooms are available, this will be clearly stated there. If no single room option is listed, unfortunately this means they have already sold out.

Sometimes we can request additional single rooms from the hotel. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

When will I receive my final holiday itinerary and information?

This information is usually sent out 7-10 days before departure. It will include your final itinerary, Freshtracks Rep contact details, and any important information relating to your transfers, flights, and accommodation, depending on what is included in your specific package.

I am unsure of my ski profile. How do I know what profile I am?

Freshtracks holidays use a ski profiling system to ensure you’re skiing alongside members of a similar ability, creating well-matched groups and a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

We recommend reviewing our Ski Profile page and selecting the profile you feel best represents your current skiing. The profiles are there to help us place you on the right holiday, so please choose honestly to ensure you get the most out of your time on the slopes.

Our Ski Profiles

If you’ve been on a Freshtracks holiday before, your Rep will give you an official grading at the end of the week. This will be recorded on our system and available to view in your Ski Locker.

Do I need to be an expert skier to join a Freshtracks trip?

No. Freshtracks holidays cater to a wide range of skiing abilities, from early intermediates to advanced skiers. Each trip includes detailed information about the recommended ski level so you can choose the right holiday for your ability.

I'm a solo traveller. Would I be suitable for a Freshtracks holiday?

Absolutely. The majority of Freshtracks guests travel solo – in fact, 85% of our guests last winter were solo travellers.

Our holidays are specifically designed to help you meet other passionate skiers and feel part of the group from the start. Group dining, organised skiing and fun social activities all help to create a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making Freshtracks an ideal choice for anybody travelling alone.

Are lift passes and ski rental included in the holidays?

Ski rental is not included on Freshtracks holidays and is arranged separately. That said, Ski Club of Great Britain members enjoy access to a number of ski hire discounts, which can be found on our Discounts page.

Ski Club of GB Rental Discounts

Please note that inclusions differ by holiday when it comes to lift passes, so it’s important to check the Essential Info tab beneath the holiday title, as well as the "What’s Included" and "What’s Not Included" sections at the top of the holiday overview page.

I have a group flight included. How do I check in?

For Freshtracks holidays that include group flights, it is not possible to check in online beforehand. You simply need to turn up to a manned check-in desk with your passport on the day, where you will be checked in and issued with a physical boarding pass.

Make sure you read the full travel information in the Travel tab and, once you have booked, keep an eye out for your final information document. This will provide further details on your baggage allowance.

If flights are included, can I bring a ski bag?

Ski carriage cannot be pre-booked and is payable at the airport.
