This week has been designed for those who already have completed at least 1 week of off piste skiing and are now looking to build on their technique and skills to be able to tackle more challenging terrain. Guests will enjoy one day social skiing day and five full days of tuition from some of the best instructors in the Alps, who will help you improve both your on and off piste technique. You will be split into groups of up to a maximum of 6 based on your ski profile and experience. Prior to booking, it is essential guests have the correct profile for the holiday they would like to book. Please see the ‘View dates & Prices’ tab for details of each specific week.

Freshtracks holidays are group ski trips organised by the Ski Club of Great Britain for solo travellers, couples, and friends who want to ski with like-minded people. We offer social skiing, instructional, off piste, and touring holidays. On all holidays, a dedicated Freshtracks Rep will be on hand to make sure the holiday runs smoothly.
Find out more here – Holidays – Ski Club Of Great Britain.
Single room availability will be shown in the "View Dates & Prices" tab on each holiday page, located under the holiday name. If single rooms are available, this will be clearly stated there. If no single room option is listed, unfortunately this means they have already sold out.
Sometimes we can request additional single rooms from the hotel. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
This information is usually sent out 7-10 days before departure. It will include your final itinerary, Freshtracks Rep contact details, and any important information relating to your transfers, flights, and accommodation, depending on what is included in your specific package.
Freshtracks holidays use a ski profiling system to ensure you’re skiing alongside members of a similar ability, creating well-matched groups and a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
We recommend reviewing our Ski Profile page and selecting the profile you feel best represents your current skiing. The profiles are there to help us place you on the right holiday, so please choose honestly to ensure you get the most out of your time on the slopes.
If you’ve been on a Freshtracks holiday before, your Rep will give you an official grading at the end of the week. This will be recorded on our system and available to view in your Ski Locker.

Flights are not included on this holiday, however a return group transfer departing from Geneva Airport at 15:30 is provided. Please arrive at the airport at least one hour before. We ask that you meet your Ski Club Rep at the Jazz Café in the arrivals hall by 15:00 at the latest to ensure the smooth running of the transfer. The return transfer will arrive back to Geneva airport on the inbound date by 10:45. We recommend you book a return flight that departs at 13:00 or later.
If you are choosing to drive to resort, please note that there is no parking at the chalets. There are, however, some spaces above the chalets and also free parking in the Col de Pierre car park approx. a 15 minute walk from the chalets.
Once the holiday has been confirmed, please send your flight details (flight numbers, arrival and departure time) to the Freshtracks Team via email to [email protected].

Located in the Hameau de Flaine, the chalet is just a one‑minute walk from the bus stop. In mid‑winter, it’s often possible to ski directly to the lifts. When snow cover is limited, the lifts are easily reached by a short bus ride, with regular services running throughout the day.

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday. We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain.
If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.
Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
Passport – Check your passport is in date and valid for travel by checking the entry requirements for your destination country – you can see these here: Foreign travel advice – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
For most European destinations your passport should:
Check your passport meets these requirements before you travel.
NB: Beginning in October 2025, how you pass through EU border controls will change. Find out more information about EES and ETIAS here.
When venturing off piste, it is compulsory to wear an avalanche transceiver. These can be provided by the Ski Club and should be worn by every person on every all mountain, off piste and touring holiday. Anyone joining these holidays will also be required to bring their own backpack, shovel and probe.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Any Member wishing to ski/snowboard with a Ski Club Group, in any of the resorts where the Ski Club is represented, agrees to do so under the following conditions:
The north-facing bowl above Flaine has a reputation for maintaining great snow conditions, whether this is on the gentle blues above the resort or on the plentiful off piste that gives this resort so much variety. Add in the network of mostly tree-lined slopes dropping down towards Samoëns, Les Carroz and Morillon and the 265km of linked pistes will keep all but the most expert of skiers happy. So, it’s no surprise that Flaine has long been a key part of Ski Club Freshtracks and once again this winter we’re offering 15+ weeks of holidays at the two Chalet Freshtracks – ranging from Advanced Powder Skills holidays to Learn to Ski Powder trips.
Susie Llewelyn, June 24, 2025
I’ve been a Ski club rep for over 20 years and repped lots of Freshtracks holidays in different resorts but I always dismissed Flaine. Having repped there over Christmas last year, my views have completely changed. Admittedly, we had fantastic conditions but the Grand Massif ski area is huge and offers something for everyone. It is also stunningly beautiful and Diane and her team know the area so well that even during a really busy week they were able to get us to areas off the beaten track where we didn’t see any other skiers and were able to enjoy Fresh tracks.
The tuition was superb such that everyone was able to progress their skiing and get a lot out of The Week. The Freshtracks programme in Flaine run throughout the whole season with different standards each week so there really is something for everyone, and a couple of people even booked two weeks back to back as they had been before and enjoy the trips so much!
It’s less than a five minute walk from the chalet to the bus stop and the bus drops you within a couple of hundred yards from the Ski lifts so getting to and from the slopes wasn’t really much of a hassle. To make things even easier, several of the guests rented skis and the hire shop was happy to let everyone leave their skis there overnight.
The chalets are both reasonably cozy but comfortable, with ensuite twin rooms plus some rooms available for single occupancy which share a bathroom. The social lounge/dining area was lovely and the meals absolutely superb. The chalet hosts looked after us really well with delicious cakes for after skiing, scrumptious meals and the best wine I’ve ever had on a chalet holiday. Beer was also available for those who preferred it to wine.
That was one evening when the hosts prepared the meal for us, but left us too pop it in the oven (the rep’s job!) and one evening when we went out to eat. There is a restaurant a few hundred yards away in the village which I believe people have used in the past but our group chose to go down into town to one of the many restaurants. It was easy getting the bus down there and we could’ve got it back again but chose as a group to order a taxi.
The buses ran frequently enough that it was easy to stay in town after skiing for a few drinks and get back for dinner but the location of the chalets means that if you are into after dinner nightlife it’s probably not the right trip for you, you would want to stay in Flaine itself. Chalet holidays are always very sociable so perfect if you are travelling on your own and best suited to people happy to socialise within the group rather than doing a lot of “going out”. There was also the added bonus of a small sauna which was great at the end of the Ski day. In conclusion if you like a chalet holiday type set up, are interested in good instruction and don’t mind having to get a bus to and from the slopes then I can thoroughly recommend these trips.
