The north-facing bowl above Flaine has a reputation for maintaining great snow conditions, whether this is on the gentle blues above the resort or on the plentiful off piste that gives this resort so much variety. Add in the network of mostly tree-lined slopes dropping down towards Samoรซns, Les Carroz and Morillon and the 265km of linked pistes will keep all but the most expert of skiers happy. So, it’s noย surprise that Flaine has long been a key part of Ski Club Freshtracks and once again this winter weโre offering 15+ weeks of holidays at the two Chalet Freshtracks โ ranging from Advanced Powder Skills holidays to Learn to Ski Powder trips.
Expect a warm welcome and fantastic hospitality throughout your trip to Flaine. You will stay in one of our two Scandinavian style chalets located in the colourful Hameau de Flaine in the upper part of the resort.
Your holiday includes a 7 night chalet stay with full chalet service including; continental breakfast on 7 mornings plus hot options on 5 mornings, afternoon tea cakes on 6 days, three course meals on 5 nights, a pre prepared meal on Monday night (your rep will help to serve), Cremant & canapes on 2 nights, cheeseboard and port on 2 nights and to wash it all down, beer and wine is included on an evening. Our experienced chalet hosts will be on hand to look after you throughout your stay, they will have a day off on a Wednesday when your Ski Club rep will organise a restaurant (payable locally). They also be off on a Monday evening and one other morning.
Each chalet has 6 bedrooms, 3 of which are en suite and the other 3 on the upper level, have use of a shared bathroom and are for single occupancy. Both chalets have WiFi and are equipped with a spacious open plan living and dining area, plus a sauna to ease those aching muscles at the end of the day. There is no parking at the chalet, however there are free parking options close by, should you choose to drive to resort.
Flights are not included on this holiday, however a return group transfer departing from Geneva Airport at 15:30 is provided. Please arrive at the airport at least one hour before. We ask that you meet your Ski Club Rep at the Jazz Cafรฉ in the arrivals hall by 15:00 at the latest to ensure the smooth running of the transfer. The return transfer will arrive back to Geneva airport on the inbound date by 10:45. We recommend you book a return flight that departs at 13:00 or later.
If you are choosing to drive to resort, please note that there is no parking at the chalets. There are, however, some spaces above the chalets and also free parking in the Col de Pierre car park approx. a 15 minute walk from the chalets.
If you require ski hire, we have a great arrangement with Flaine Super Ski, who stock excellent all terrain skis for our groups. They are adjacent to the main lift station and as a Ski Club member you will get a 20% discount. No pre booking necessary.

Susie Llewelyn, June 24, 2025
Iโve been a Ski club rep for over 20 years and repped lots of Freshtracks holidays in different resorts but I always dismissed Flaine. Having repped there over Christmas last year, my views have completely changed. Admittedly, we had fantastic conditions but the Grand Massif ski area is huge and offers something for everyone. It is also stunningly beautiful and Diane and her team know the area so well that even during a really busy week they were able to get us to areas off the beaten track where we didnโt see any other skiers and were able to enjoy Fresh tracks.
The tuition was superb such that everyone was able to progress their skiing and get a lot out of The Week. The Freshtracks programme inย Flaine run throughout the whole season with different standards each week so there really is something for everyone, and a couple of people even booked two weeks back to back as they had been before and enjoy the trips so much!
Itโs less than a five minute walk from the chalet to the bus stop and the bus drops you within a couple of hundred yards from the Ski lifts so getting to and from the slopes wasnโt really much of a hassle. To make things even easier, several of the guests rented skis and the hire shop was happy to let everyone leave their skis there overnight.
The chalets are both reasonably cozy but comfortable, with ensuite twin rooms plus some rooms available for single occupancy which share a bathroom. The social lounge/dining area was lovely and the meals absolutely superb. The chalet hosts looked after us really well with delicious cakes for after skiing, scrumptious meals and the best wine Iโve ever had on a chalet holiday. Beer was also available for those who preferred it to wine.
That was one evening when the hosts prepared the meal for us, but left us too pop it in the ovenย (the repโs job!) and one evening when we went out to eat. There is a restaurant a few hundred yards away in the village which I believe people have used in the past but our group chose to go down into town to one of the many restaurants. It was easy getting the bus down there and we couldโve got it back again but chose as a group to order a taxi.
The buses ran frequently enough that it was easy to stay in town after skiing for a few drinks and get back for dinner but the location of the chalets means that if you are into after dinner nightlife itโs probably not the right trip for you, you would want to stay in Flaine itself. Chalet holidays are always very sociable so perfect if you are travelling on your own and best suited to people happy to socialise within the group rather than doing a lot of โgoing outโ. There was also the added bonus of a small sauna which was great at the end of the Ski day. In conclusion if you like a chalet holiday type set up, are interested in good instruction and donโt mind having to get a bus to and from the slopes then I can thoroughly recommend these trips.
