7 lifts serve a neat 24km network of slopes, which will keep most skiers happy for a day or so.
There is a big vertical drop, extending to over 1400m if conditions allow and the lift system consists mostly of fast chairlifts and a main access gondola, which rises up from the valley to the slopes above. Snowmaking has seriously improved snow reliability, with most runs now covered by snow machines. Nearby Predazzo offers up another good ski area, linked to Obereggen, which is a great option if you’re looking for more variety.
The medieval town is a great base, with loads of accommodation and an excellent range of restaurants, cosy bars and shops. You’ll want to stay in the southern part of the village for the quickest access to the slopes, but the town is not huge so don’t worry if you’re based a little further away.

Spring conditions dominate across the Italian Alps through this week, as high pressure brings fine, dry and bright conditions across the region. Temperatures will yo-yo in a typical spring freeze-thaw pattern, the freezing line dropping to 1000m overnight but rising to just shy of 2,000m in the midday sun; slightly colder in the south and west versus the east.
Cloud and more unsettled weather brings with it some snow through this weekend, the best of which will be in the east of the country; around 10cm will fall from Saturday into Sunday in the Dolomites bringing a useful freshener as we head towards the end of the season. With the oscillations of the freezing line settling around 1,500 this will mean that this snowfall will favour upper slopes. Western areas will see around 5cm, with the northwest settling for a few freshening flurries.
