A cable car whisks you up from the village to the Col Rodella, at which a number of red runs form a small local area.
If you’re an adventurous skier however, you’ll want to head from here to either Passo Sella (for the clockwise Sella Ronda circuit) or Passon Pordoi (for the anti-clockwise loop). This circuit is world-renowned for a fantastic sense of travel, excellent piste skiing and some of the best intermediate terrain in the Alps. The lift system is pretty good and there’s been lots of investment in recent years, improving it further, just note that there’s no resort return run for the end of the day.
Stunning scenery can be found at every turn and the village of Campitello itself is very traditional, with wooden buildings and narrow streets dominating. There’s excellent food to be found, both in the village and up on the slopes, plus you’ll be paying a lot less than you would in other parts of the Alps. Off the slopes, the Val di Fassa is renowned for its cross country skiing, with the entire valley linked up via groomed trails. Verona, Venice and Innsbruck airports are all around 2.5 hours away.

Snow Overview

The weekend opens warm across Italy, with the freezing line hovering around 3,500m. This will fall over the course of the weekend and into the new week, and as a layer of cloud cover moves in this brings with it precipitation.
This will fall as snow in parts especially across the northern Alps. Up to 20cm could fall in the Dolomites and elsewhere, primarily across higher ground as the freezing line remains above 2,000m when the snow arrives. A brief flash of sun through the middle of new week before another burst of unsettled weather moves in over the region later in the week.
