With 34 lifts and covering an area of 3000 acres – making it larger than the likes of Jackson Hole – there is some great variety on offer on the skiing front. From gentle blues at mid-mountain level, to expert hike-to terrain from the top lifts, the ski area has something for everyone. Lift facilities here are better than most in South America, with a fast six-seater chair and a gondola accessing a big chunk of the ski area.

For accommodation, there are two options – either to stay down in the lakeside town of San Carlos de Bariloche, or up at the base of the ski area itself. The former has a bigger range of accommodation (most of which is also cheaper than up on the hill), plus a livelier nightlife and more restaurant options, but the latter is more convenient as you don’t need to make the 20-30 minute drive each way every day.
