La Tania is a good value, family friendly option for accessing the Three Valleys ski area.

From the main gondola out of the village, you can choose to either drop towards Courchevel via Chenus or over the Col de la Loze towards Méribel. Of course the whole Three Valleys has terrain for everyone, but the local La Tania slopes are good for learning, being fairly gentle and nicely tree-lined, which definitely helps in bad weather. Snow reliability has improved thanks to snowmaking, but beware La Tania is one of the lowest bases in the region.

The resort was built for the 1992 Winter Olympics, but although it is purpose- built French resort its wood-clad buildings sit comfortably in a pretty woodland setting and it definitely is nowhere near as bleak looking as some other resorts in the area. Off the slopes, there’s not a huge amount to do – you’ll need to head further up to the larger resorts for the swimming pools, ice rinks, toboggan tracks and cross country trails.
