Join us on this late season trip to the high altitude, snow sure resort of Val Thorens. With the help of BASS instructors, you will spend 5 days working on your on piste technique.
ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
Your first day on snow will be a warm-up to help rediscover your ski legs, after which you’ll spend the next five days in the excellent and capable hands of one of the BASS (British Alpine Ski School) instructors. The BASS team are experts in their field and consistently receive great feedback from Ski Club members.
You’ll be skiing full days from 9am until the lifts close (of course broken up by a coffee break and a lunch stop), so be ready to give those legs a test and earn yourself a well-earned dip in the jacuzzi or a cold beer at the end of the ski day.
This is an Intermediate (Red) and Advanced Intermediate (Silver) on piste level trip. You will be in groups of 7/8 based on your ski profile. If you are unsure of your level, then please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week you’ll receive an updated grading from your Instructor or Ski Club Rep – perfect for helping to plan your next Freshtracks trip.
You will be staying in the family run Hotel le Sherpa (3*) on a half board basis. Breakfast is served buffet style and dinner consists of 5 courses of traditional French cuisine.
You can ski right to the front door of the hotel and enjoy the hotel’s excellent spa facilities which include a traditional sauna, a hammam steam room and a jacuzzi. The new cosmic sauna on the hotel’s terrace has panoramic views of the slopes – we’d recommend heading down here for sunset!
This holiday is on a twin share basis. If you are a solo traveler, then you will be placed in a room with someone of the same gender. Single rooms may be available upon request. These are subject to our hotel room allowance. If you require a single room, please book early to avoid disappointment.
Scheduled return flights with Swiss from London Heathrow to Geneva Airport are included in the trip. Ski Carriage is free of charge with Swiss and does not need to be pre-booked. Your Ski Club Rep will coordinate the transfer when you arrive at Geneva airport. Please meet them in the main arrivals hall - they will be wearing their blue Ski Club jacket. Your tranfer to resort will take approximately 2 hours 45 minutes.
If these arrangements are not convenient, you can organise your own travel and may be eligible to receive a nominal discount from the holiday cost. Furthermore, if you can find alternative flights that coincide with our flight times, then you can meet the group at the airport and take our transfers to resort. Please do not book any alternative flights or travel until your holiday has been confirmed to run. Please contact the Freshtracks office on 020 8410 2022 in order to discuss this further.
Val Thorens is the highest resort in the vast Trois Vallées area and its 600km of slopes, with great access to the linked resorts of Courchevel, Méribel and Les Menuires. It is known for being exceptionally snow sure early in the season and the impressive lift system makes getting around the area quick and easy. Most of the terrain is ideally suited to intermediate skiers, but there are ample opportunities for beginners or experts alike. For more information on Val Thorens, please visit our Val Thorens Resort Guide.
I If you require ski hire, we recommend the Snowberry or Goitschel Sports 1 Ski set shops. These are located approximately 200 - 300m from the hotel. Ski Club members can get a discount at this Ski set shop when pre-booking online through the Ski Club website.
