ON SNOW EXPERIENCE

A gondola rises from the resort to the top of the treeline, from here a six-seater chairlift lifts skiers from mid-mountain to the top of the ski area. Well known for it’s off piste, Serre Chevalier is high on any powder hunter’s hit list. Explore the backcountry, tackle tree skiing and much more over 6 days of instruction.

RESORT

Often considered a hidden gem of the southern French Alps, Serre Chevalier is comprised of four villages sharing a huge 250km of high quality, varied terrain; offering a wonderful alternative for its northerly neighbors.

The resort’s north facing slopes sit at an altitude from 1200m to 2800m, though in reality 80% sits above 2000m, giving great snow reliability. In addition, the treeline at 2,150m gives more than 700m of vertical tree lines pistes. Among these, there are bowls, valley descents and high off-peak faces, all contributing to the resort's reputation as being just as well suited to off-piste powderhounds as more laid back skiers.

Chantemerle, Villeneuve Monêtier and Briancon are the four main bases, each with their own character and charm with the latter being recognized on UNESCOs inaugural list of world heritage sites. All of them however are recognized for their laid back style and friendly locals to excellent food and cheaper prices than those of its northerly neighbours. Don't expect especially lively nightlife, but instead a more chilled out skiing experience with great local cuisine on offer.
