Pontresina Resort Guide
Traditional and pretty village a stone's throw from St Moritz and connected to numerous ski areas by train.
Although there's no skiing directly from Pontresina, the resort is perfectly placed to explore the vast network of slopes at Corviglia and Corvatsch above St Moritz or the high-alpine, glacier slopes of Diavolezza and Lagalb – which offer some of Switzerland's most snowsure and spectacular skiing. Advanced skiers and those willing to strap on a pair of touring skins will love the long runs at Diavolezza, including the epic descent of the Morteratsch Glacier – Switzerland's version of the Vallee Blanche.
The village itself is small and based around the railway station. Stay as centrally as possible for the quickest access to the train each morning and don't expect lively apres ski or a huge variety of restaurants and hotels, Pontresina is small, laid-back and quiet.
