With 78 trails to choose from, reliable snow thanks to an impressive snowmaking system and pretty tree-lined slopes, Smugglers' Notch is a reliable choice for your East Coast ski holiday. Morse Mountain has one of the best beginner areas in the USA, boasting gentle learning slopes right through to longer, winding greens. Madonna and Stirling Mountains are bigger, steeper and offer up great variety, with everything from long, cruisey blues to steep double (and even triple) diamond blacks.
The purpose-built resort ensure maximum convenience and offers up a good choice of accommodation, restaurants and off slope activities. It is located just up the road from the resort of Stowe, making it a good destination for a multi-resort trip. Fly to the small airport of Burlington for the quickest access, with alternatives (just note there'll be a long drive) being Montreal or Boston.
