Food lovers, mark mid March in your 2025 calendar. This is when the Hochkönig holiday region hosts its culinary events, combining food, traditional folk music and, of course, winter sports.
Festivities begin with the Ski & Wine Enjoyment Week from 15–22 March. You can expect wine tastings as well as novel events like the Gondola Dinner and Folk-Musical Skihüttenroas, with traditional folk music alongside regional dishes and drinks.
If you prefer beer over wine, plan your holiday for the end of March; During the weekend of 27–29 March 2025, everything revolves around hops and malt. Festivities kick off on Thursday evening with the Alpine Craft Festival Beer & Dine, where visitors can sample handcrafted beer from master brewers at select restaurants.
The Alpine Craft Night on Friday evening takes place at TOM Almhütte on the mountain, where food trucks, acrobatic performances, DJ sets and (of course) beer tastings create a party atmosphere.
On Saturday 29 March, more beer tastings and various performances will take place across a number of participating alpine huts throughout the Hochkönig ski area, making for the best kind of spring ski trip.
