linked to neighbouring Pra Loup. Snowmaking has improved reliability lower down and the upper slopes are mostly above 2000m, ensuring reliable snow, despite the resort’s location in the southern French Alps. Most of the pistes are rated blue in the local valley, becoming steeper on the way over to Pra Loup. Our only issue is with the lift system, which is definitely ageing and is still dominated by slow chairs and drags – some new lifts have been built recently, but more investment is needed.
The purpose-built village is very convenient, with most accommodation benefiting from either a ski-in-ski-out location or a very short walk to the slopes to start the day. It is a small place and remains fairly quiet at night, but there are a number of decent restaurants and bars. The quickest access is definitely from Nice Airport, with the transfer taking around 2.5 hours.

Spring conditions dominate across the French Alps, with high pressure bringing fine, dry and bright conditions throughout this week. Freezing overnight temperatures give way to warmth int he midday sun, as the freezing line yo-yos from 500m to 2,000m in a typical spring freeze-thaw.
This oscillation will slowly flatten over the course of this week as cloud moves into the region, settling on a pivot around 1,000m. This will bring with it a few flurries of snow into the weekend, with a useful 5cm falling across upper slopes.
Cloud begins to give way to this spring freeze-thaw sunshine again as the new week begins.
