Santa Caterina Ski Resort
Pretty, user-friendly village near Bormio. This typical Italian village is situated in the Valfurva Valley.
There is no dedicated beginner’s area in Santa Caterina. There are a few gentle slopes which can be accessed from the top of the gondola or chairlift which leave from the village centre. Intermediates and advanced skiers should head up to the top of the two-stage gondola. From here, intermediates should drop over the ridge to access some long reds all the way back down to the village. Advanced skiers can ski or board black runs which run alongside the gondola and drop over 1000m all the way back down to the village. For those looking for off piste skiing, a chairlift which leaves from near the top of the gondola provides access to couloirs. Skiers can also take a bus to access the slopes in Bormio.
The accommodation in Santa Caterina is limited – there are a few hotels which most visitors tend to stay in. Milan is the closest airport and is a three hour drive from the resort.
