Located at the southeasterly tip of the Austrian Alps, Innerkrems takes escapism to the next level.

A small village is located at 1,500m elevation, at the head of the Krems valley. With minimal infrastructure, the resort opens out onto wide variety of rolling mountains and valleys reaching up to 2,300m, providing the perfect location to escape from the crowds and lose yourself in the mountains.

The terrain at Innerkrems begins at 1500m and provides plenty of options, including mellow tours through a series of interconnecting mountains or three mountains to tackle, reaching a peak of 2,280m at Ochsenriegel, immediately to the west of the small resort. The Dr. Josef-Mehrl-Huette provides a perfect location to base yourself for overnight tours, in the heart of this triangle, opening up touring options in all directions.

Accesible by one of the resort’s two lifts, the southerly Gruenleitennock provides several options to get warmed up, although all routes here can be skied up as well as down. The Lehrpfad Gruenleitennock route is a regular for beginners, those perfecting their kick turns, or those warming back up as the season kicks off, reaching the summit at 2,160m before turning around and tracing your turns back down the hill, entering the treeline and providing direct access to the village.

Further afield, the Koenigstuhl rises out of an arm of the valley to really help tourers get the miles under their belt, or you can push your strength and go up and over from the village. A handful of runs, mostly reds and blues, provide a chartered route to the village.

Accommodation is provided by a series of family run Austrian guesthouses, nestled on the side of the Krems Valley. Alm-Resort Fruehauf offers the better amenities, including access to a pool to rest your legs after a hard day on snow. Alpenhotel Hutmannshaus provides one of the few hotels in the resort.
