There's 141km of slopes on offer at La Molina, many of which are tree-lined and ideal in bad weather.
The vertical is good for the region, with long runs of between 500-900m of vertical possible and there’s a decent network of fast lifts to whisk you back up to the top again. Snowmaking has helped snow reliability in recent years, but the lower slopes can suffer in the strong Spanish sunshine later in the season.
Accommodation, food and all other ski amenities are appreciably cheaper here than at most resorts in the Alps. Add in delicious Spanish Pyrenean food, very good value wine and a lively feel at the main resort bases after the lifts close and not only can you have an enjoyable time here, but it won’t break the bank either. Base yourself at the foot of the Alp 2500 gondola for the best variety of accommodation and quickest access to all parts of the mountain each morning.

Mild conditions will dominate across the Pyrenees to open this forecasting period, with double-digit temperatures expected at midmountain level in the midday sun. A few bits of precipitation will move in, falling as rain in most places.
Things will change through this week, as unsettled weather forces the freezing line to take a long walk off a short pier, plummeting to 1,000m before close of play on Saturday. Rain will then therefore turn to snow overnight into Sunday, bringing with it a useful 10cm for the region.
