Current conditions:
most of the terrain is suited to intermediates, especially in the Rosskopf sector where the piste map is dominated by winding blues. Efficient, fast lifts make getting around very quick and easy, including across the valley via Flachauwinkl to a further area of linked slopes. More advanced skiers and riders will enjoy the World Cup piste and other routes off the Gamskogel, as well as the steeper terrain off Tauernkar. The purpose-built village is very convenient, with all accommodation being ski-in-ski-out and right at the foot of the main lifts. It is not hugely lively however, with a most evening activity limited to the hotels and there’s not a huge amount to do away from the slopes. Getting here is incredibly easy – the drive from Salzburg can take less than an hour if there’s no traffic.
