I first came to Chamonix over 20 years ago with a six-month-old baby – and fell in love with the valley. After years of dreaming, searching, and a leap of faith during lockdown, Chalet Mélèzes was born. It’s now our family’s mountain haven, and the heart of Girl Powder Retreats.

Henry’s Avalanche Talk was founded by Henry Schniewind. HAT has been around for 25 years and grown into a team of off-piste professionals. We have given talks and courses to tens of thousands of people, presented at international snow science conferences and published many papers and articles, often in the British press.
